about the jury

Terence Leong loved jumping out of C130s as a Commando Officer in the Singapore Armed Forces, but his real obsession was with stories, which came in the form of music, comics, movies, album cover art and Star Wars. He left the military and signed up as a copywriter.

Shortly after he started, he clinched the Best New Copywriter award at the Singapore Creative Circle awards which opened several doors for him. He joined Fallon Singapore and was sent to Fallon Hong Kong and then to Tokyo. Along the way, he made award-winning work for Time MagazineUnited Airlines and Sony. Terence jumped at the chance of venturing in China when JWT Shanghai offered him a gig as a Creative Director. His work caught the eyes of the folks at Wieden + Kennedy  who were on the hunt for great storytellers who understood sports. When they found out that Terence is a triathlete and Liverpool fan, they stopped their search and hired him as the Creative Director of Nike in greater China. He did some of the most iconic and provocative work of his career there. He continued to live his dream at RGA Shanghai where he took stories to the digital space. Terence then returned to Tokyo once again when he took the job of ECD of AKQA Tokyo.

Many awards, just as many fails, many wrinkles and many more grey hair and 21 years later, Terence finally returned to Singapore to join Media Arts Lab as the ECD of South East Asia to tell stories for one of the greatest brands on the planet.
