Thay Littichai is a natural storyteller with a knack for creating visually captivating narratives across different mediums. His approachable art style merges seamlessly with compelling storytelling, showcasing a distinct and clear directorial vision. His ability to capture the characters in a beautiful, nuanced and cinematic way gives his films a unique aesthetic and emotional realism that draw the audience into his stories.
Inspired by French and Chinese cinema, he was led to the world of storytelling. After pursuing his study in cinema in San Francisco and Paris, he returned to Thailand in 2012 where he pursued his film career as a director. He has established his own production company, Unboxnow, in 2018.
His recent works, including short films, music videos and commercials, have been recognized with several awards, including Cannes Lions, The Clios, London Fashion Film Festival, Spike Asia, special screenings at TIFF, Adfest, and One Asia Creative Awards. One of his personal projects has also been selected to be showcased on Nowness.
Thay believes film is the best medium for a storyteller to connect people with its combination of image, dialogues and music that can create a powerful message or just a simple escape.
