MIKE SUNDA

Mike Sunda co-founded PUSH Japan in 2020, and heads up the Tokyo office as Managing Director and Strategy Director. He brings together a uniquely multi-disciplinary skillset spanning culture marketing, brand strategy, journalism and ethnographic research to help global brands succeed in Japan, as well as curate an agile, end-to-end agency approach rooted in cultural and creative insights.

Since launch, PUSH Japan has already worked on integrated campaigns for the likes of Adidas, Koala, and Amazon, created stand-out video productions for Nowness, Budweiser and Red Bull, authored local-market strategy for Nike and Spotify, programmed experiential activations for Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Maserati x Fragment collaboration, independently created original documentaries and produced music videos.

Formerly lead strategist at MullenLowe Group Japan, Mike has worked with iconic brands including Amazon, Red Bull, and Apple on integrated comms campaigns, creative production, brand strategy and planning. In 2017, Mike also launched “Tokyo 20XX”, an award-winning cultural insights specialism, and has presented at numerous industry conferences about culture marketing and cultural insights.

Mike holds an undergraduate degree in Japanese from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London, and a master’s degree in Cultural Studies from Sophia University (Tokyo).
