CICLOPE Asia, the Festival and Awards celebrating the power of craft in the Asia-Pacific region, returned to Tokyo on May 30th, 2024.

The event brought APAC’s leading craft talent together for talks, networking and celebration of the best craft in the region, culminating in the Awards Ceremony where the winners of 2024 were presented. Around 30 expert jurors from China, Australia, India, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and even from far away places like Canada, the UK and France, got together to award 13 trophies as well as a Grand Prix.

The Grand Prix was awarded to Play It Safe for Sydney Opera House, entered by Revolver and ARC Edit, produced by Revolver and Somesuch, directed by Kim Gehrig, and created by advertising agency The Monkeys. The film was also awarded in the Music and Direction | Over 120 seconds categories.

CICLOPE Asia also delivered Special awards to:

  • Production Company of the Year for Revolver
  • Agency of the Year for The Monkeys, part of Accenture Song 
  • Director of the Year for Kim Gehrig

In notable wins, this year we saw various companies take home their trophy including TYO Monster, AOI Pro, Finch, GoodOil, GEEK Pictures, electriclime, among many others. Check the full list of winners here.

CICLOPE Asia also had an amazing line-up of speakers who joined us on stage during the afternoon to give some insights into the current trends and latest updates in our industry. We were joined by directors Elliott PowerMakoto Nagahisa and Thay Littichai, who sat down to discuss some of their most recent projects. The team from The Mill Shanghai presented the trends, developments, the good and the bad of media manipulation, while the team behind the award-winning LG’s Better Choices Make a Better Worlddiscussed how mixed media can help create a miniature world in a certified Green production.
